Hi, I’m Georgie — the human behind Human First Healing.

I’m a social worker with a BSW from Florida Atlantic University, currently working toward my Certified Addiction Professional (CAP) credential here in Florida. My work has lived in behavioral health: admissions, case management, and crisis support — the moments when someone reaches out for help and needs a real person on the other end of the line.

I’ve sat with people on some of the hardest days of their lives. What I’ve learned, over and over, is that healing doesn’t start with a treatment plan — it starts with feeling safe, seen, and believed. That’s what “human first” means to me: before the paperwork, before the labels, there’s a person. We start there.

This space is for education and honest conversation about trauma — what it does to the brain and body, how the nervous system holds onto it, and how we can meet ourselves with compassion instead of judgment while we heal. Nothing here replaces working with a licensed professional; think of it as a companion for the journey.

Thanks for stopping by. You’re in the right place.
